All 12 individuals from the municipality of Banaybanay and San Isidro who tested positive for COVID-19 last May 29 HAVE NOW RECOVERED AND DECLARED CLEARED FROM THE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE.

This was confirmed by the Provincial Task Force on COVID-19 after receiving earlier today the official report from the Southern Philippines Medical Center subnational testing laboratory and the Department of Health XI.

Action Officer of the PTF on COVID-19 Dr. Reden Bersaldo said that these patients, consisting of 8 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) from San Isidro and Banaybanay towns and 4 individuals with a travel history in Maguindano who are also residents of Banaybanay were re-swabbed on May 30 as per protocol of the province to re-swab all returning residents regardless if they already secured RT-PCR negative results from Manila or from their area of origin.

With their negative results, these 12 patients are set to be discharged from the Community Quarantine Centers of their respective LGUs and will continue their 14-day quarantine at home. After 14 days, these individuals will again be subjected to a swab test to ensure that they have already fully recovered.

Aside from these 12 individuals, all of their direct and close contacts, including the driver and the health workers who looked after them, have turned out negative in their RT-PCR swab test.

Dr. Bersaldo said this means that there is no local transmission and that the virus is contained.
